Unedged Oak / Category I/II

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

I – 40% / II – 60%

FIRST: Both sides are practically free from defects, with a few healthy nodes up to 20 mm in diameter. Pin knots on one side are permitted. Twisting, bending or cracks and the presence of hearts are not permitted, whilst the colour should be clear and even.

SECOND: One clean side, whilst the other can bear healthy knots up to 30 mm in diameter per linear metre. Twisting or bending with a width of 160 mm or greater for trimmed and 140 mm or greater for the semi-trimmed are permitted.

  • Bark-free material.
  • Unless otherwise indicated, the packages will be presented like “organ pipes”.

Unedged Oak / Category I/III

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

I – 30% / II – 40% / III – 30%

THIRD: Approximately 50% of the sawn face has no defects, with healthy knots of up to 30 mm in diameter permitted on both sides, without too many restrictions and nodes of average extent (for the entire board, 3 healthy knots of 40-50 mm in diameter or a healthy node up to 70 mm diameter are allowed, along with a unsound node of up to 30 mm). A heart can be present if fully reduced, with small curvatures and cracks that are light in colour and without imperfections being allowed.

  • Bark-free material.
  • Unless otherwise indicated, the packages will be arranged like “organ pipes”.

Unedged Oak / Category I/IV

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

I – 20% / II – 20% / III – 30% – IV – 30%

FOURTH: Healthy, loose or traversing knots up to 30 mm in diameter are allowed on one face. On the other side, the presence of spike and loose knots, hearts and Sapwood are permitted. In principle, such defects should not cover more than 10% of the entire board. A reduction is made on the basis of these defects in terms of length or width.

  • Bark-free material.
  • Unless otherwise indicated, the packages will be arranged like “organ pipes”.

Unedged Oak / Category RUSTIC

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

I – 20% / II – 20% / III – 30% – IV – 30%

There is no knot limit for either side – whether they be traversing, spike or loose – and the presence of hearts and splits is also allowed.

Small curvatures, cracks and discolouration are permitted. Ring shakes and the presence of insects are not allowed.

  • Bark-free material.
  • Unless otherwise indicated, the packages will be arranged like “organ pipes”.
