THE JOURNEY OF ST. CAMILLUS IN THE HELL VALLEY

Valle dell’Inferno, used in the past also for transhumance, is one of the routes that embodies the naturalistic and religious-spiritual aspect of the Gargano. In fact, along the ancient mule track of the valley on 2nd February 1575, the conversion of San Camillo De Lellis took place, an event that today is remembered by the large cross placed on the top of the plateau. In these places the mystical charge is very strong and many are those who walk the path in search of their own dimension of peace and tranquility. From a purely naturalistic point of view the valley is enchanting for the panorama that can be enjoyed from there and for the presence of numerous caves located along the entire route.
